Mid-Year Wellness Check-In: Realigning with What Matters
As a mom in my 40s, I’ve learned that wellness doesn’t come from doing everything. It comes from doing the right things—consistently—in a way that supports my body, energy, and peace of mind.
Six months ago, I didn’t set resolutions. I set intentions.
Not big, sweeping changes. Just small, steady shifts I knew would create momentum over time:
More pushing myself in the gym, now that I’ve built a strong foundation
More protein on my plate to support strength, energy, and recovery
More saying no to what drains me so I can say yes to what matters
More recovery and rest, because burnout doesn’t lead to better results
More intentional supplementation to support metabolism, energy, and performance
More time outdoors, especially in the mornings—sun on my skin, bare feet to the ground, letting nature regulate my nervous system
These small shifts have carried me through the first half of the year—and now, I’m taking a moment to pause and reflect.
Because life gets full. And without regular check-ins, it’s easy to drift from where we want to be.
Where I’m Leaning In Next
There are a few areas I’m really focusing on as we move into the second half of the year:
1. Reducing the Mindless Scroll
I didn’t name this in January, but lately I’ve felt just how much scrolling steals from me—my time, my presence, my energy.
So I’m being more intentional: less mindless scroll, more meaningful input. Whether it’s a good book, a podcast, or even just silence, I want to fill my brain and spirit with things that restore me—not drain me.
2. Planning with More Intention
I’ve always been someone who works well under pressure. A recovering procrastinator, if you will. But as our family schedule fills up with school, kids’ activities, and all the day-to-day logistics of motherhood, I’ve realized how essential planning truly is.
It keeps the chaos from taking over. It helps me stay grounded. And honestly? It’s a form of self-care.
3. Getting Outside Daily
This one may sound simple, but it’s something I’ve learned to prioritize with more intention. Getting outside—especially first thing in the morning—has made a huge difference in how I feel.
Morning sun helps regulate my circadian rhythm, balance hormones, and boost energy.
Walking barefoot in the grass? It’s calming, grounding, and a daily reminder to slow down.
These aren’t just “nice-to-haves”—they’re foundational to how I want to feel.
A Gentle Reminder
If you’re feeling a little off track right now—whether physically, mentally, or emotionally—this is your permission to pause.
Not to judge yourself. Not to overhaul everything.
But to simply realign.
Ask yourself:
What’s working? What’s not? What’s one small shift I can make today that supports where I want to go?
It’s not about perfection. It’s about rhythms that carry you through the messy middle of motherhood, work, and life.
And if you ever want to chat about what I’m using to support my wellness journey—from supplements to rhythms—I’m always here.
You’re not behind. You’re just getting started again—with intention. 🤍
